David is from the Wambaya people, North East of Tennant Creek and he has traditional links to Yuggera, Ngarrindjeri through his three young sons. David has been performing since he was 10years of age. He began in a school band playing the drums but he soon realised his passion was with the didgeridoo. As he continued his schooling he became more interested in traditional dance and performing arts.
He traveled for three years with Waltjapiti Arts on tour and gained a wealth of knowledge at an early age which has been to his advantage as he now is in partnership with his brother and sister, as the Marketing Manager of Imbala Jarjum. For the last 10 years of his career he has performed at numerous venues such as the Entertainment Centre Sydney, Convention Centre in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Boorooloola Festival and recently with a touring American musician Jack Johnson.
His traditional dancing and musical abilities are not his only talents as he enjoys creating and choreographing new works. All the musical pieces for have been composed by David and his brother Luke, who often work with each other while creating new productions.
He enjoys dancing and passing on information about his culture to other people both nationally and international visitors. He has been involved in inspirational talks to youth at risk, career opportunities and young children. He relates extremely well to young people and they respond well to him.
His first love is his partner and his children, followed by his music and dance. If he decides to continue with his career in this field he has great potential for his future.
